Tap The Rock Craft Brew Fest

The Blue Dogs are coming to Historic Rock Hill’s

Tap The Rock Craft Brew Festival on September 24, 2016

ROCK HILL, SC, August 26, 2016 –– Historic Rock Hill announces the Blue Dogs will be the featured entertainment at TAP THE ROCK!

The first annual TAP THE ROCK craft brew fest will bring together more than 30 craft breweries and attract hundreds of beer enthusiasts to celebrate their common love of craft beer on Saturday, September 24 from 1-5p.m on the grounds of the historic White Home (VIP section opens at noon).  TAP THE ROCK will showcase interesting & unique craft beers for all to sample – featuring rare beers made specially for festival VIP’s.  Food trucks will also be onsite serving up some of the South’s tastiest savory fare and the festival will feature live music by Charleston, South Carolina’s very own country rock band – the Blue Dogs!

Headquartered in Charleston, with a career spanning more than 30-years in the music industry, the Blue Dogs has a solid reputation as one of the most popular bands in South Carolina's Americana scene. Led by Bobby Houck and Hank Futch, the combo has specialized in a guitar-based, acoustic-leaning, highly melodic blend of traditional country, classic rock, folk-pop and bluegrass. With drummer Greg Walker and a rotation of musical colleagues, Houck and Futch regularly front the Blue Dogs on stage around the Southeast and beyond.

“We are really excited to be a part of TAP THE ROCK”, stated Houck, who recently moved to Charleston in 2015 after calling Rock Hill home for more than 7 years. “Both Hank and I have deep roots in Rock Hill through long-term family connections.  The history of Historic Rock Hill is very much a part of who we are, so there’s no better way to express how much we care about the community than to support Historic Rock Hill by participating in this event”.

Each $50 general admission ticket includes admittance to the craft beer sampling area, where guests will use their commemorative festival sampling glass to taste craft beer from some of the best craft breweries in the country.  VIP tickets are also available for $75, which includes early admission into the festival at noon, access to the private VIP beer garden and indoor restrooms, a catered lunch, exclusive rare beer tastings, and a tour of the White Home.  All Historic Rock Hill Members will receive a discount on general admission tickets.  Designated driver tickets can also be purchased at a reduced rate.  To purchase tickets, visit www.taptherock.org.  Sponsorships are also still available, which include ticket packages, benefits and other festival perks.  Sponsorship levels & benefits and volunteer opportunities can also be viewed on the website, or by contacting 803.329.1020 or info@taptherock.org for additional information.  For additional information on the Blue Dogs and other upcoming concert dates, visit www.bluedogs.com.

Proceeds raised will benefit Historic Rock Hill’s goal of taking the organization to a higher level in the community by implementing new and improved programs, special events and historic preservation initiatives, and will benefit the sustainability of Historic Rock Hill’s White Home, a cornerstone of Rock Hill’s newly designated Cultural Arts District.  A private 501C3, Historic Rock Hill’s mission is preserving and protecting the historic resources of Rock Hill, SC to enhance the livability of its historic areas.
